Neck Lift

A necklift is a procedure specifically focused on correction of aesthetic problems of the neck. These problems can be genetic due to poor neck contour, due to excessive fat or due to aging sagging skin and muscles. The incisions are similar to a facelift in that they are positioned in the natural creases surrounding the ear and under the chin. Any and all muscle problems can then be corrected, fat can be thinned and contoured and skin can be tightened to create an aesthetically pleasing neck. The surgery is usually done on an outpatient basis and sutures are generally removed in one weeks time period. Patients can expect some swelling and bruising for 1 to 2 weeks post surgery. Alternatives to this procedure may be liposuction of the neck or complete facelift depending upon the extent of the problems in the neck and facial area.
