Surgeon's
Notes: This first patient is a young 35 year old woman
who as had a genetic problem of excess upper eyelid skin and fat. Her
parents also have had this similar problem. Se has received numerous comments
from friends and family members always asking her if she was tired. She
decided she would like to have this problem corrected while she was still
young, and before the problem became worse. She elected to have an upper
blepharoplasty performed. The incision was placed in the upper eyelid
crease and from this incision upper excess skin and fat was removed. The
procedure took 1 hour and was performed under local anesthetic. As you
can see, in both the front and side views post operatively; the eyes look
bigger. The upper lid crease is more visible and the upper eyelid redundancy
is reduced. This
result is 3 weeks post her surgery.

Surgeon's
Notes: This second patient is a young women in her forties
who has been told she looks tired by numerous friends and relatives. She
has excess upper skin and lid folds that obscure her natural crease. She
also has extra bagging and sagging lower lid skin that makes her look
older. Both problems were corrected simultaneously with an upper and lower
blepharoplasty under local aesthesia. The procedure took one hour to perform.
The upper incision was placed in the lid crease. The lower lid incision
was placed just under the lash line. As you can see post operatively the
eyes look bigger. The upper lid crease is more visible as the excess skin
and fat is removed, the lower lid fat excess and skin laxity is also reduced.
The results, as with all good plastic surgery are subtle and hence people
never knew she had surgery done but merely thought she looked better,
more awake and rested.
