It is not uncommon
for patients to experience excessive skin and fat rolls in the back
and flank area, especially after massive weight loss. In combination
with this problem patients also complain of sagging hanging skin in
the buttock area. Both these problems can be corrected by performing
a lower body lift. A lower body lift involves making an incision in
the underwear line above the buttocks and lifting the entire buttock
skin and fat complex superiorly. As well, it also elevates the skin
of the back and pulls it all down own similar to the tummy tuck but
in the opposite side. This pulls the folds out of the back skin. And
elevates the buttock at the same time. All the skin and fat is then
excsised leaving amuch mre lifted and shapely back side.
